Then the man brought me to the gate facing east, 2 and I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. 6 While the man was standing beside me, I heard someone speaking to me from inside the temple. 7 He said: “Son of man, this is the place of my throne and the place for the soles of my feet. This is where I will live among the Israelites forever. The people of Israel will never again defile my holy name—neither they nor their kings—by their prostitution and the funeral offerings[B] for their kings at their death.[

Good morning, beloved in Christ. Today we gather with open hearts to hear the Word of the Lord, a Word that is not only about fire on the altar, but about the King taking His throne. Ezekiel saw the glory of the Lord return from the east, just as the first light of Eden once shone from the east. The east is never accidental. It is the direction of restoration, reminding us of the Garden we lost and the glory that God promises to restore.
그리스도 안에서 사랑하는 여러분, 주님의 평안으로 인사드립니다. 오늘 우리는 열린 마음으로 하나님의 말씀 앞에 섰습니다. 오늘 말씀은 단순히 제단 위의 불에 관한 것이 아니라, 왕께서 보좌에 앉으시는 것에 관한 말씀입니다. 에스겔은 하나님의 영광이 동쪽에서 돌아오심을 보았습니다. 에덴의 첫 빛 또한 동쪽에서 비추었듯, 동쪽은 결코 우연이 아닙니다. 동쪽은 회복의 방향이며, 우리가 잃어버렸던 동산과 하나님께서 다시 주시겠다고 약속하신 영광을 상기시킵니다.
The prophet describes that when the glory came, the earth shone with His radiance. The word he uses is כָּבוֹד (kabôd), meaning weight, heaviness, splendor. In Greek, the word is δόξα (dóxa), meaning glory, honor, divine brightness. Glory is not a feeling or an emotion; it is the very weight of God’s being pressing upon creation until everything bows. When the kabôd comes, there is no room for idols, no space for pride, no throne for anyone else.
선지자는 영광이 임할 때 온 땅이 그 광채로 빛났다고 기록합니다. 그가 사용한 단어는 히브리어 “카보드(כָּבוֹד, kabôd)”로, 무게, 중후함, 광휘를 뜻합니다. 헬라어로는 “독사(δόξα, dóxa)”라 하여, 영광, 존귀, 신적 광채를 의미합니다. 영광은 단순한 느낌이나 감정이 아닙니다. 그것은 하나님의 존재감이 피조세계 위에서 누르시는 것이며, 모든 것이 무릎 꿇게 되는 실재입니다. 카보드가 임하면 우상은 설 자리가 없고, 교만은 사라지며, 다른 어떤 보좌도 남을 수 없습니다.
Ezekiel hears the voice of God saying, “This is the place of My throne.” The altar once burned with fire, but fire was only a beginning. Fire excites, but glory transforms. The altar is for sacrifice, but the throne is for rule. God is not content with occasional visitation; He desires habitation. Jesus confirmed this when He said, “If anyone loves Me… My Father and I will come to them and make Our home with them” (John 14:23). Paul reminds us, “Do you not know that you are God’s temple (ναός, naos) and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16). Christianity is not visiting God it is God enthroning Himself in us.
에스겔은 하나님의 음성을 듣습니다. “이것이 내 보좌의 자리다.” 제단은 불로 타올랐지만 불은 시작에 불과했습니다. 불은 흥분을 일으키지만, 영광은 변화를 일으킵니다. 제단은 제사를 위한 것이지만, 보좌는 다스리심을 위한 자리입니다. 하나님은 가끔 방문하시는 것으로 만족하지 않으십니다. 하나님은 거하시기를 원하십니다. 예수님도 말씀하셨습니다. “사람이 나를 사랑하면… 내 아버지와 내가 그에게 가서 거처를 그와 함께하리라”(요한복음 14:23). 바울도 선포합니다. “너희가 하나님의 성전(ναός, naos)인 것과 하나님의 성령이 너희 안에 거하시는 것을 알지 못하느냐”(고린도전서 3:16). 기독교 신앙은 하나님을 방문하는 것이 아니라, 하나님께서 우리 안에 보좌를 세우시는 것입니다.
But when the throne is lost, the glory departs. Israel once cried out the name אִי־כָבוֹד (Ichabod), meaning “the glory has departed” (1 Samuel 4:21). Where there is Ichabod, there is emptiness, corruption, and despair. Yet when the King returns, He does not leave things as they are. We see this in Jesus. Entering the temple, He made a whip of cords and drove out the merchants, saying, “My house shall be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of robbers” (John 2:16; cf. Jeremiah 7:11). When glory comes back, idols must fall. False thrones are overturned. What is unholy cannot remain where the King sits.
그러나 보좌를 잃으면 영광이 떠납니다. 이스라엘은 한때 “이가봇(אִי־כָבוֹד, Ichabod)”이라 외쳤습니다. “영광이 떠났다”(사무엘상 4:21)는 뜻입니다. 이가봇이 임한 곳에는 공허와 부패와 절망이 가득합니다. 그러나 왕께서 다시 오시면, 그분은 현상을 그대로 두지 않으십니다. 예수님이 성전에 들어가셨을 때, 줄로 채찍을 만드사 상인들을 내쫓으셨습니다. “내 집은 기도하는 집이라 일컬음을 받아야 할 터인데 너희는 강도의 소굴로 만들었다”(요한복음 2:16; cf. 예레미야 7:11). 영광이 돌아오면, 우상은 무너집니다. 거짓 보좌는 전복됩니다. 왕께서 앉으시는 자리에는 거룩하지 않은 것이 남아 있을 수 없습니다.
This vision is not just about a building in Jerusalem. It is about us. My life, your life, our church we are meant to be the throne of God. Paul declares, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). To the church in Laodicea, Jesus says, “The one who overcomes, I will grant to sit with Me on My throne” (Revelation 3:21). When He takes His throne in us, His reign flows through our families, our ministries, and our nations.
이 환상은 예루살렘 성전만을 말하는 것이 아닙니다. 우리 자신에 관한 것입니다. 나의 삶, 당신의 삶, 우리의 교회가 하나님의 보좌가 되어야 합니다. 바울은 고백합니다. “내가 그리스도와 함께 십자가에 못 박혔나니 그런즉 이제는 내가 사는 것이 아니요 오직 내 안에 그리스도께서 사시는 것이라”(갈라디아서 2:20). 라오디게아 교회에 주님은 말씀하십니다. “이기는 그에게는 내가 내 보좌에 함께 앉게 하리라”(요한계시록 3:21). 주님이 우리 안에 보좌를 세우실 때, 그분의 통치가 우리의 가정과 사역과 민족을 통해 흘러갑니다.
History shows us what happens when glory fills the temple. In the great Pyongyang Revival of 1907, the Spirit of God fell with such weight that people wept aloud in repentance, confessing sins publicly, returning stolen goods, reconciling broken relationships. The kabôd pressed on Korea until hearts bowed, and out of that revival the Korean church was birthed in power. That is what happens when God’s throne is set among His people.
역사는 성전이 영광으로 충만할 때 무슨 일이 일어나는지 보여줍니다. 1907년 평양 대부흥 때, 하나님의 영이 큰 무게로 임하시자 사람들이 통회하며 울며 회개하고, 죄를 공개적으로 고백하며, 훔친 것을 돌려주고, 깨어진 관계를 회복했습니다. 카보드가 한국 위에 임하시자 마음들이 무릎 꿇었고, 그 부흥 속에서 한국교회가 능력 가운데 태어났습니다. 이것이 바로 하나님의 보좌가 그분의 백성 가운데 세워질 때 일어나는 일입니다.
Beloved, this is not about a moment of fire, but a lifetime of glory. Paul writes that “we are being transformed into His image from glory to glory” (2 Corinthians 3:18). Habakkuk declares, “The earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea” (Habakkuk 2:14). From Eden lost to Eden restored, from Ichabod to enthronement, from altar to throne God is shaping us to carry His glory into the nations.
사랑하는 여러분, 이것은 한순간의 불꽃이 아니라 평생의 영광에 관한 것입니다. 바울은 기록합니다. “우리가 다 주의 영광을 보며 그와 같은 형상으로 변화하여 영광에서 영광에 이르니”(고린도후서 3:18). 하박국은 선언합니다. “여호와의 영광을 인정하는 것이 세상에 가득하리니 물이 바다를 덮음 같이 하리라”(하박국 2:14). 잃어버린 에덴에서 회복된 에덴으로, 이가봇에서 보좌로, 제단에서 보좌로 하나님은 우리를 빚으셔서 그분의 영광을 열방에 전하게 하십니다.
So today, let us not only seek a visitation. Let us yield ourselves for His habitation. Let us become His throne, His temple, His dwelling place. And as a congregation, let us declare together:
그러므로 오늘 우리는 단순히 방문을 구하지 맙시다. 그분이 거하시도록 우리 자신을 내어드립시다. 하나님의 보좌, 하나님의 성전, 하나님의 처소가 됩시다. 그리고 온 교회가 함께 이렇게 고백합시다:
“Lord, make my life Your throne. Let Your glory remain, and let nothing else sit where You alone belong.”
