6 “About noon as I came near Damascus, suddenly a bright light from heaven flashed around me. 7 I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, ‘Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?’
8 “‘Who are you, Lord?’ I asked.
“ ‘I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting,’ he replied. 9 My companions saw the light, but they did not understand the voice of him who was speaking to me.
10 “‘What shall I do, Lord?’ I asked.
“ ‘Get up,’ the Lord said, ‘and go into Damascus. There you will be told all that you have been assigned to do.’ 11 My companions led me by the hand into Damascus, because the brilliance of the light had blinded me.
12 “A man named Ananias came to see me. He was a devout observer of the law and highly respected by all the Jews living there. 13 He stood beside me and said, ‘Brother Saul, receive your sight!’ And at that very moment I was able to see him.
14 “Then he said: ‘The God of our ancestors has chosen you to know his will and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from his mouth. 15 You will be his witness to all people of what you have seen and heard. 16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.’
Sermon Title: He Calls My Name / 주께서 내 이름을 부르셨습니다
Acts 22:6–16 / 사도행전 22:6–16
There are moments in life that change everything. Not because we were seeking God, but
because God came looking for us. Saul wasn’t in prayer. He wasn’t in worship. He was on a
mission of violence. But even there, on the road to destruction, Jesus came not to destroy him,
but to call his name.
인생에는 모든 것을 바꾸는 순간이 있습니다. 우리가 하나님을 찾았기 때문이 아니라,
하나님께서 우리를 찾으셨기 때문입니다. 사울은 기도하고 있지 않았습니다. 예배하지도
않았습니다. 그는 살기 등등한 길을 걷고 있었습니다. 하지만 그 길 위에서 예수님이
오셨습니다. 사울을 멸망시키려는 것이 아니라, 그의 이름을 부르시기 위해서였습니다.
- He Found Me on the Wrong Road / 잘못된 길 위에서도 나를 찾아오신 주님
Verse 6 says Saul was near Damascus, around noon. He wasn’t going to worship he was going to
persecute. But the Lord met him there. This is grace: God doesn’t wait for us to get it right He
meets us in the middle of our mess.
6 절은 사울이 정오쯤 다메섹 근처에 이르렀다고 말합니다. 그는 예배하러 가는 것이
아니라, 박해하러 가고 있었습니다.주님은 그러한 가운데 사울을 만나셨습니다. 이것이
바로 은혜입니다. 하나님은 우리가 완벽해질 때까지 기다리시는 분이 아니라, 혼란과
죄에 빠져있을때 우리를 만나시는 분이십니다. - He Called My Name / 주께서 내 이름을 부르셨습니다
In verse 7, Jesus says, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” This was not a general call this
was a personal call. Jesus knew Saul’s name. He knows your name too. He’s not calling a
crowd. He’s calling you.
7 절에서 예수님은 이렇게 말씀하십니다. “사울아, 사울아, 네가 어찌하여 나를
박해하느냐?” 이것은 일반적인 외침이 아닙니다. 개인적인 부르심이었습니다. 예수님은
사울의 이름을 알고 계셨습니다. 당신의 이름도 알고 계십니다. 주님은 무리를 부르시는
것이 아니라, 당신을 부르십니다. - When He Calls, Everything Breaks / 그분이 부르실 때, 모든 것이 무너집니다
The light blinded Saul. He fell to the ground. The man full of control suddenly became helpless.
Because when Jesus calls your name, your pride must break. Your plans must die. Your old life
must collapse. So He can give you something new.
빛이 사울을 눈멀게 했습니다. 그는 넘어졌습니다. 모든 것을 통제하던 사람이 순식간에
무기력해졌습니다. 예수님이 당신의 이름을 부르실 때, 교만은 무너져야 합니다. 계획도
무너지고, 옛 자아도 무너져야 합니다. 그래야 주님께서 새로운 삶을 주실 수 있습니다.
- He Awaits a Response / 주님은 우리의 응답을 기다리십니다
Saul doesn’t argue. He doesn’t explain. He simply says, “What shall I do, Lord?” That is the
question of surrender. That is the question that changes lives. When Jesus calls your name, He’s
not looking for a debate He’s waiting for your yes.
사울은 변명하지 않습니다. 설명도 하지 않습니다. 그는 단지 이렇게 말합니다. “주여,
내가 무엇을 하리이까?” 이것이 바로 항복의 질문입니다. 운명을 바꾸는 질문입니다.
예수님께서 당신의 이름을 부르실 때, 논쟁을 원하시는 것이 아니라, 순종의 응답을
기다리십니다. - He Calls Me to Die and Rise / 주님은 나를 죽고 다시 살도록 부르십니다
Verses 14–16 show Saul’s full transformation: vision, baptism, and commission. The man who
came to kill Christians became one of them. He didn’t just get saved he was sent. This is the
full call: Jesus calls your name, washes your sin, and sends you into purpose.
14 절부터 16 절은 사울의 완전한 변화의 모습을 보여줍니다. 그는 하나님의 뜻을 보고,
침례를 받고, 사명을 받습니다. 그리스도인을 죽이러 왔던 자가 이제는 그리스도를
전하는 자가 됩니다. 이것이 온전한 부르심입니다. 예수님은 당신의 이름을 부르시고,
죄를 씻으시며, 새로운 사명으로 보내십니다.
Conclusion / 결론
This is not just Saul’s story. It’s yours. Jesus is still calling names. Not just Paul. Your name.
Right now. He’s not asking if you’re qualified. He’s calling you as you are. Broken, blind, tired,
ashamed. But He knows your name and He’s calling you.
이것은 단지 사울만의 이야기가 아닙니다. 당신의 이야기입니다. 바울만이 아닌 당신의
이름을. 지금 이 순간, 당신의 이름을 부르고 계십니다. 자격을 묻지 않으십니다. 지금
있는 그대로 부르십니다. 상처 입은 채, 눈먼 채, 지친 채, 부끄러운 채로. 그러나 그분은
당신의 이름을 아시고, 지금 부르고 계십니다.
If you hear Him calling your name today, come. Don’t resist. Don’t delay. Run to Him. Let today
be your Damascus road. Let today be the day everything breaks… so everything can begin again.
오늘 그분이 당신의 이름을 부르시는 것이 느껴진다면, 나오십시오. 저항하지 마십시오.
미루지 마십시오. 주님께 달려오십시오. 오늘이 당신의 다메섹 길이 되게 하십시오.
오늘이 모든 것을 무너뜨리고, 다시 시작되는 날이 되게 하십시오.
