When David had fled and made his escape, he went to Samuel at Ramah and told him all that Saul had done to him. Then he and Samuel went to Naioth and stayed there.

Word came to Saul: “David is in Naioth at Ramah”;

so he sent men to capture him. But when they saw a group of prophets prophesying, with Samuel standing there as their leader, the Spirit of God came upon Saul’s men and they also prophesied.

Saul was told about it, and he sent more men, and they prophesied too. Saul sent men a third time, and they also prophesied.

Finally, he himself left for Ramah and went to the great cistern at Secu. And he asked, “Where are Samuel and David?” “Over in Naioth at Ramah,” they said.

So Saul went to Naioth at Ramah. But the Spirit of God came even upon him, and he walked along prophesying until he came to Naioth.

He stripped off his robes and also prophesied in Samuel’s presence. He lay that way all that day and night. This is why people say, “Is Saul also among the prophets?”

heavenly father thank you for everything you’ve done to us so we praise your name and thank you for bringing us together in this place today and thank you for keeping us the faith and believe in God who created heaven and earth please be with us and dwell with us when we worship you the cold winter has passed and spring is coming spring is the season when you bought Sprout on trees flowers broom and All Creatures become new again I praise God for your faithfulness when Every Morning Sun rises and season changes in these days I would like to pray for Russia in crime the war between Russia and Ukraine has been continuing for over one year there have been numerous casualties and World crimes occurring please give wisdom to not only Putin and zelensky but as all world’s leaders so that the world can end quickly and help them to reserve the political problems may God have mercy on the land of Ukraine and heal and you renew it please comfort the orphans who have lost their parents and those who lost their families and those who have lost their homes and livelihoods I want to pray for turkey I saw buildings collapsing and the ground splitting due to an earthquake in turkey turkey many people have lost their families and homes are suffering from the earthquake may God be with them and comfort them please be with the aid and donations from each country and help the cities damaged by by earthquake recovered quickly and I would like to pray for Life CM Community Vision 2324 please make this place a holy place for worshiping praising and praying to God we have set a goal 40 members worshiping together with five active small groups please lend many people gather at this worship service like the miracle of five barley Loaves and two fish and let us give glory to God with more abundant worship we pray we pray that members of church will come together as a community with about abundant sharing in loads worshiping God together and helping each other with love and care we pray that through the guidance of Holy Spirit we would like to encourage other members and listen to the word of God and grow together I praise and glory to Lord because you have led us and guide us until now please help us to trust you with all our hearts whenever we are and where whatever we do and make our path straight when we submit to you in all the ways to in our life Lord please guide us and lead us to the Green Pastures in our journey I we desire to praise God and give you glory in the in this place I’d like to pray for pastor Joe may God be with our passenger as you as you was with Enoch May the holy spirit always be with with pastor Joe may God grant him wisdom and inspiration when he prepares sermons so that he can Proclaim God’s word and power and passion and his son is expected to be born today May’s wife has a safe and healthy delivery and may their family have joy and blessing with newborn baby

I mean most of the friends who knew me you know when they heard of me going to the Seminary they were like since when have you thought about I mean you played bass for 10 years back in the English worship service but man I don’t know since when since when have you thought of becoming a pastor I was like a while ago I didn’t talk about that to you I had it here why yes I don’t know to my friends I seemed more like a session player than the preacher I guess so they were asking me this question if we were all not Korean but Jewish people at the time people say is Joe among the prophet they’ll talk like that yes um we sometimes need to use this expression right after the retreat so Retreat is one of the very inspirational and transformative experience that you can have in the church if you ask like Christians you know like lifetime Christian or anybody who’s been in faith for a long time if you’re asking if you ask this question like when did you accept Jesus personally in your heart then most of the answers are like Middle School Retreat yes Middle School second or third grade not the first grade because they are Middle School there titled middle schoolers but they act like a toddler oh no no no I mean elementary school kids anyway yes so but I think that’s the most of the time when people kind of experience like God calling them you know I love you dude and like where you oh Jesus yes that moment comes on the moment then after the retreat uh you know just feel by the spirit we go back home and that’s the very day that we yell you know yell with our parents you know to each other going like take a bath take a shower first before you jump in the bunk and like now I’m too tired from Retreat and all that and yeah really shout out to each other probably your parents would say like you heard the word of God you experience the great work of Holy Spirit and you’re you act like that you act like that you don’t listen to your parents ha that’s the work of God okay okay yes and who do you think you are yeah your son your daughter that would be your answer about anyway why do people fight uh after the retreat or why do people you know have struggles still after the great experience because it’s important to remember that the spiritual experiences like church Retreat or revivals can be incredibly powerful and transformative but they don’t automatically erase all our struggles and challenges in fact sometimes such experiences can highlight some areas of ourselves and that needs more attention and growth in case of King Saul you know he was prophesying today yes I mean his intention was not but he started prophesying yes and it was a great experience that showcased God’s power and presence however Sal’s life was marked by consist pattern of contradiction and Disobedience to God’s will this shows us that transformation is a progress you know it’s a long journey it’s not a rocket science it takes a long time with lots of con lots of challenges um similarly you know it’s possible that even after a big experience we may have felt a renewed sense of purpose and motivation to live out our faith but our relationship with our people that we meet or the way I live my daily lives um by not match what we heard and it would be the point of struggle it’s important to continue to seek God’s guidance and wisdom as you navigate these challenges and knowing that transfer transformation is a journey you know it’s not a destination considering them all let’s take a look at today’s narrative um last week we could see that Saul tried to kill David and David open the window had to jump out to escape he made his way out but still Saul was chasing David and FYI we have expository German style it means at the beginning of this year we started from the chapter one and we went all the way up to chapter 19 here well then David jumped out of the window okay and didn’t get hurt like a stunt man good job David but then he had to go find somebody to help him out the one he chose to go was Samuel the one who anointed him and also the spiritual leader while King Saul was relying on the military forces he had David didn’t choose to find another same same other but instead David chose to find a spiritual leader and get help from there what were they doing they were worshiping they were not even prepared for fighting against few assassins or the whole troops to catch David Saul kept sending his troops once twice three times um our scripture leader is always says keep your Bible open so if you take a look at the scripture yes Verse 18 through verse 24 you can see Saul keeps sending out the troops but they failed to kill David but instead what do they do first group prophesized second group prophesized third again did the same thing and the last one had King Saul himself going out there stupid people stupid soldiers I’m gonna do and kill him by myself and so prophesized another thing is he even took his jack it off the cloth off yes and this somehow implies you know the king’s clothe Cape robes something like that you know the very long garment that they wear on themselves is a sign of privilege for the authority but he took it off did he take it off no God made him take it off and he studied prophesying the word of God forgot what he was going through yes forgot what he was going to do

so we the first thing we can see is Sal’s contradiction you know despite prophesying prophesying by the power of the Holy Spirit Saul was also actively seeking to kill God’s chosen servant David yes that’s the first thing that we can see and number two is the God’s grace despite Saul’s Wicked intention God’s grace was able to transform Saul’s heart and mind So based on such background let me reveal the title of the sermon a little late um let’s read it just once can we do that transformation transformation same word twice but with a bit difference in the gradiation of the color yeah while listening to the story think of this for many times so as you could see that King Saul that we’ve been talking about yes

God somehow transformed this person you know someone who is seeking to kill his enemy not even the enemy actually David did all the good things for Saul yeah like for this guy uh if you ever do anything nice to me even if you try to run away from me I go catch you and treat you a nice meal I don’t miss out anybody who did something good to me yeah like yeah I truly do yes my my wife is like do you really have to come on like he deserves it yes that’s our money but still he deserves it yeah so I don’t know I’m like I had the broad thing yeah can’t deny connect like anything good other friends did to me yeah I’m the kind of person but Saul to his dad’s friend and also son in it’s on the law he was trying to kill yes but from the scripture today we can see God’s weakens the God’s power to transform this person you know the story of souls prophesying highlights the transformative power of God even someone who was actively sick into harm and kill the chosen servant he could be transformed by God’s grace to prophesy in a way that was unexpected a second Corinthians chapter 5 verse 17 goes like this therefore if anyone is in Christ the new creation has come the old has gone the new is here yes so just like that God turned Saul into the worshiper Saul into the prophet for a moment yes

so that’s what we could see about King Saul this figure um since we’re I mean not all of us but since we’ve been in in church for a while you know let us have another person who had the name Sao Apostle Paul yes so there were two cells that I want to talk about um

we talked about King Saul’s transformation let me jump out to the other one so the transformation of apostle Paul was a gradual and ongoing process um foreign

in the place where he was going to kill David for Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus on the road to kill Christian yes Paul also made Saul at the time also met Jesus he became blind and his he experienced the mercy of God over there

but for this guy I think the significant moment of transformation at the road to Damascus was you know it was just the beginning of the lifelong journey of growth and learning before King Saul you know it was it was just a single little event you know just like a firework that just blow up and disappeared you know just vanished in a thin air

the value of transformation is ultimately determined by its lasting impact on a person’s life and character and what we see from Saul the impact didn’t last yes because from the rest of the story we can figure out that Saul did not stop killing David chasing out for killing David but after the conversion Apostle Paul became the great worker of God and he wrote more than half of the New Testament anything after the book of Acts more than half of it yes Paul wrote it we call them Pauline episodes right yes the letters from Paul he became such a great worker of God and here I had a question so so what that to us if you look at the title today transformation and transformation yeah stem letter above it a bit of difference in its gradation yes gradation so the first one I see is the transformation movement of soul we can see the dark beginning and the bright white middle part and the dark part again so I I think that’s like the spiritual status of King Saul in his entire life however the one below shows you know I try to indicate a pause the post life started as the person the persecutor the Christian killer but later I became the Apostle of God and didn’t even mind giving his life for Jesus

Sunday is like one of the actual diary together and I praise God and worship

should I just follow the flow Just Let It Go no matter what I do God’s Gonna Save Me Anyway no matter how I live God’s Gonna Save Me or he’s gonna give me the experience so should be fine um we don’t fall into that

if the grace is a swimming pool

we can just walk on the swimming pool yeah just pretend like crawling with the upper body and that still will be a good exercise but but if you could actually crawl if you flat your body actually and swim in the sea in the pool of Grace then you will enjoy the fullness of God through the whole life and the moment that you actually Shine the moment that God uses you won’t look like a hypocrisy or won’t look like a contradictory contradiction but rather it just look like the guidance of the god

every moment is a little dark but if you connect all the dots that becomes a long line

what kind of line do you want to have in your life when you look back

the word though the moment that we see from here shows shows us that we need to be transformed by the grace of God but not for the short term in the long term by walking with him together it’s not a rocket science it’s never a concert but it is the every single day life matter is a real thing I pray that we are transformed but also I pray that we are transforming till we meet the face of the face of God up into heaven let us pray

thank you Heavenly Father for calling us and when all of us decided to go to church when all of us decided to accept Jesus Christ when we decided to you know make footsteps on your right path people might have asked us is he or she also among the prophet since when was he a Christian or he’s been a church Gore but not a Christian common since when have you been like that and we might have lived in the way you want imagine lived in the way that doesn’t fit your eyes but still but still by the grace of you we have so many experience and chances opportunity to be transformed we pray that such chances and such great events

doesn’t become something short-lived but something that actually a lot long lasting and eventually Everlasting they’re everlasting love and grace of you it will stay with us and let us live like the people who appreciate it and who values it who value it very important

and when we do that please bless every single footsteps that we make in the future by the name of Jesus we pray amen

the actual is actually Sunday next Sunday yeah but um going back to the U.S and um Gina will still be recovering from surgery before she starts to go back to work I’ll be going back to work the next day in the army maybe they might say hey take some time off because you’re just coming from a different time zone because it’s night time over there right now so so yeah we’ll be going there I still got some big decisions to make in the future as far as my career and whether I’m retiring and Gina’s going to go back to work and figure out if that’s the right thing for her as we continue to look forward to our life together and um in the future near future not far future have kids at some point probably within the next three years definitely yeah just see what God has for us and continue on the path that he has for us and it’s been a blessing for us to be able to come here and worship that we came here for one reason stayed for another but God did bless us throughout everything with Gina’s family connecting and then coming to the church and being able to meet all you wonderful Christian people my brothers and sisters in Christ

thank God and thank you see him because I feel like I’m I mean I feel like I’m in home I feel more home because I have I have a church here this is my first church it kind of refers to South Korea so I feel more home
